Brownstone Insurance had the pleasure of welcoming close to 50 of our friends, business associates and brokers and their families to the Franklin Park Zoo this past Friday for our first annual Friends and Family Appreciation Day.
Thankfully, Mother Nature decided to cooperate and what started out as a rainy, dreary day turned into a sunny afternoon perfect for touring the beautiful zoo and learning about the animals.
Guests of the event were welcome to arrive at any time to tour the zoo at their leisure (courtesy of Brownstone, of course) and many families made a day of it - arriving when the zoo first opened, touring the zoo, having a picnic lunch, taking advantage of two special animal encounters that we lined up for them and then joining us in our private function room to enjoy a BBQ-style cookout.
Our guests enjoyed the special privilege of participating in a "giraffe encounter," during which we were lead up to the giraffe observatory and had the chance to feed the giraffes and ask questions to the giraffe handler. Some groups may have been more successful than others in getting the giraffes to come over and take food from them, but nonetheless it was a unique experience! The second animal encounter happened inside our private event room, when a zoo employee brought in a ball python for guests to touch and observe up close. We also learned all about the lifestyle and habits of the python and were able to ask any questions we had.
We're so thankful to our friends and partners who attended our first family event and we hope everyone enjoyed the day as much as we did. We're looking forward to planning more family-related events in the future so keep an eye out for future announcements!
